Watch them carefully, I had one that was no problem for 1.5 yrs, replaced him with 3 more all of them were killers of whatever they could catch. White Striped Hermit?

The species is Clibanarius vittatus...definitely not reef safe IMO and surely a potential issue.

i had one like that and he got pretty large. if i put a bigger shell into the tank he would go into it. named him the godfather cause if you were slow, he'd eat you, and if you dead, he'd eat you, if you were sick, he'd wait then eat you. watched him catch a damsel once, it was pretty awesome.
