crab removal

I had to tear down my tank to remove a Stone crab about the size of silver dollar. (he was eating my star fish) He came in on some rock. I have noticed several smaller ones (dime size) hidden in rock which I could not find when I took tank down. Any ideas on how to get rid of these smaller crabs or just leave them alone. thanks tbmoore@cableone.net

Hey,
First of all, welcome to the board!
I haven't had to catch any bad crabs but I know there are traps you can bait with a piece of shrimp. Do a "search" at the top of this page. Try "traps" and you will find where this topic was answered earlier. People have had to remove everything from bristle worms to damsel fish. HTH
Take care,
Dan'l :D

I was able to catch a marauding crab using a clean jar.
Just before lights out I put the jar in the tank, on an angle. Put food in the jar. (I think I used some Tetra shrimp pellets.) Next morning the crab was in there. They can get in but can't climb out due to the smooth sides of the glass.
