One of my hermits recently abandoned his small, outgrown shell and moved into a broken up chunk of shell that was too big for him to drag around. He was stuck and afraid to move back into his old shell which was moved out of reach by another crab. I went out to the porch and started digging through our snail shells collected from the beach at Cardiff. I found 3 candidates, 2 of which were huge. I tossed 'em in anyway and in 30 minutes the crab had moved into the smallest one. Now he has the nicest shell in the tank. He went from a Honda to a beat-up Oldsmobile station wagon to Cadillac all in one day.
It looks like he's wearing a St Louis Rams football helmet. :cheer:
