Crabs, Snails, and copper?

I work at a youth camp in WI and this summer I set up a fish only tank in our nature center. That building is not heated in the winter so I moved the tank over to my house for the rest of the year. (good deal don't you think? They have it 2 months I have it 10 months.) Now, I have only had reef tanks so I don't know much about copper. If I were to put some crabs and snails in there would they be ok if I ever had to medicate? That was a long explanation for a short question.

Crabs and snails would not do okay with copper int he tank, but the snails would be okay with meds. if a fish happened to get sick. But many times, you can find a more natural remedy for your fish, that I feel works better for sick fish, unless their disease is in a very advanced stage.
