crabs, snails, and disease

can a crab or snail carry or contract ich or velvet?

Absolutely not contract ich, but yes carry it and introduce it into your display, rare though this may be.

Same goes for live rock. I once introduced velvet into my tank from a piece of cured live rock.

wat if i put some crabs in a tank containing ich or velvet in the tank, would that prolong the cycle of the parasite, restart the cycle of the parasite, or not effect it at all?
btw the tank is fishless for about a week and a half

Putting crabs into a tank with parasites would not affect the parasite's death at all. They cannot host off an invert.
