Crazy LFS

I know that stories about LFS giving bad advice and pushing a sale no matter what get posted here all the time, but I want to share something I witnessed todayat what I thought was a reputable LFS. A gentleman walked into the store looking for a new fish to add to his 35 gallon tank. The clerk asked him what was in there, and he responded with a yellow tang, a lionfish, a coral beauty, "some sort of" trigger, a clownfish, and a few damsels. He spotted a juvenile French angel that he liked, and the clerk suggested that he could squeeze that into his tank (for $70 of course). Moments later, he walked out of the store with the French Angel ready to be crammed into his 35 gallon. I just had to vent; as a small business owner, I just don't know how someone could sleep at night knowing they duped a customer into a sale.

I see only about two fish on that list that I would MAYBE put in a 35. Man that makes me mad. Not to be a party pooper, but why didn't you pull the man aside and say don't do it buddy!

Rob I understand. I still consider myself a newcomer to the hobby but I've been studing the books for months and I've had my system going for 5 months. I will agree with mmslue79, why didn't you stop him?
I stopped a guy from buying a yellow tang this evening that was pale white. When he ask me what was wrong with it I couldn't accurately tell him. But I did make a enough points with him to get him to step back and ask himself a few questions, which resulted in him no buying it. (Like why was every tank marked 50% off?) Nothing this LFS looked right except the tank he uses for display!
