Mantis dont snap their claw..they bash things and thats the clicking sound they make.
I have had Pistol shrimp with Cleaner shrimp, harliquen shrimp and never had any problem. I think the vid was it just snapping at the shrimp getting to close to the den. Pistol are scavengers

Isn't that sonic charge they send out of there claw enough to crack glass. I saw a documentary on them a while back and infact it might of been the one from that link.
I would not want a potential glass breaking shrimp in my tank.. only pounds and pounds of gnarly rock piled vertically

you might be confused with the Peacock mantis. It has the ability if its large enough to punch glass tanks hard enough to crack it.
Pistol shrimp just fires a jet of water and bubbles cant really do any damage to a tank

It doesn't fire out a jet of water. It snaps its claw so fast that a bubble is created through the cavitation effect. When this bubble collapses it produces an enormous amount of noise and also some light and heat through the effect known as sonoluminescence, which can reach very high temperatures in a tiny space.
What actually kills or stuns the other fish is the noise, they're not "shot" by water but by a sound wave.

you slap any 2 things together underwater and there will be a small jet of water rushing away. Just cause its main thing is it creates bubbles it will still shoot some water out of the claw.
Anyway the point was a pistol shrimp will never break a tank thats a mantis shrimp

But the tiny little jet of water doesn't kill or stun. The sound wave does the kill or stun.

I was talking about breaking a tank.
If the sound wave is strong enough and the tank glass is thin, I think its possible that it can brake glass.
