took a closer look at one of my shrooms today. tried to get a pic but you cant make out what it is.

so here's an artist's rendition of it, side view. its used to be normal, but i fragged it and this is how it grew back:

I saw a hermit crab walking around today with a zoa on his back. I took 3 pics but could not make out the zoa. It WAS a snails shell. Im thinking the snail got eaten and his shell laid in a zoa colony for a while, then the crab made it his home!
This is the best part of this hobby - you never know what you are gonna get.
