This is my 70 gallon Oceanic. It's an upgrade tank from a 30. This tank has been up for about 5 months now. I wanna put a fish or coral that balances out the color, pehaps somethin blue? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Very beautiful. I am not a tang policeman, but, aesthetically, the tang seems disproportionately large for that tank. Could just be the angle.

Thanks for the comments! The tang is about 3 to 3&1/2 inches. The front panel of the tank is 36" long. He will no doubt have to be moved in the future. Any thoughts on corals, fish, clams I could add that would have different colors?

You could try an angel from the family Genicanthus. And yes the angels from this family are reef safe. They are not the most colorful but would add a fish with some some size to the tank. The Bellus(ornate) angel watanabei angel or
Japanese swallowtail angel are colorful.

try some sun polups, green star polups, pinnate sea fan, anchor coral that should add some color to your setup unless you like those colors then it's great

I didn't even consider one of those angels! I was thinking either a flame or coral beauty. I'll have to research the ones listed. Also, I have some polyps, but I am going to look at the corals you mentioned. I have a friend that is fragging me some stuff now, so once we swap I'll have to see what it looks like and go from there.
Thanks for the suggestions, thats why these boards are so great! If anyone else wants to chime in, please do!

I just added a little pygmy angel, realy bright blue with a yellow head. So far so good with my corals, only see it picking at the glass. Also a school of 5 blue reef cromis would look nice. They are really bright blue.

Very healthy looking tank, nice job.....consider some acans, some of the more basic colors can be pciked up for $10-$15 per polyp and they would add some dramatic coloration to the tank. There are also some palys that are the size of half dollars that would add some nice color. Maybe a pink digitata, or some type of monti cap, both are easy to care for..

Sorry, I read a lot on these boards but I am unfamilliar with "acans" and "palys". What are these corals? I'm assuming an abbreviation.?. I have seen the monti cap but couldn't find the other two.
Thanks for your help!

I think it's safe to say we can title this tank the "leather" tank.

A Flame Angel would definatley add a splash of color. I've had mine for about 4 months and the only thing I've seen him pick at is the Xenia, which is ok by me.
You can also try some colorful zoos, blue tubs are VERY nice or some bright red/orange ones. Some rics would also look great
Here is a picture of my backdraft zoos:

Hey if you have the lights, what about a beautiful blue clam........

That would be awesome.
A school of blue chromis too, that would add a nice punch of color.

SO last week I was a little down because I wanted to put some color in my tank. I went out and got a flame angel and I flipped my backing over to blue. I think it makes quite a difference. Well, at least it gives a balance of color.
What do ya think?
