do you have any probs with MHs raising water temp?
that hood will trap lots of heat coming out from MHs if ur fan(s) are not strong enuf.
I have my light 8" above water surface and there's a 5" slid around the light btw the hood and the light. 2 built in fans and still, water temp raises 3 degrees easily. I have to set a big floor fan to blow air to it to keep the water from getting too warm.
the link below is my tank.

Oh, and the backer looks like there's water/moisture btw the glass and the backer.
might want to take it out, clean and dry it and attach it back in.
I have better pics when I take pic of the tank w/o flash. Try w/o flash.

Absolutely love it. One thing though. I would maybe change the background. The bubbles in the background take away from its beauty. But wow its really nice!! Great job!! Also what kind of star is that?? The orange one. It lookd kinda like a linkia but its hairy or puffy??

Tank looks good...maybe create a little more Lr action towards the front/middle of tank to give it a sense of depth

im having 2 problems 1 is with my frogspawn i have 2 pieces on either end of the tank 1 is doing really well and the other not so good?also it seems when i look at fish in the store the colors r really nice then when i get them home it seems my lights dont bring out the colors real good mostly on red and orange fish.

LOVE YOUR HONESTY.
YOU SHOULD GET MAYBE A YELLOW SUN CORAL, AND A BIG YELLOW FIJI LEATHER. TO BRING THE COLORS MORE UP

I like it. One improvement I'd suggest is a better skimmer. I recently switched from a red sea skimmer and although I didn't notice any problems when I had it I've noticed my corals appear healthier, and my tank is clearer (less microbubbles).
Also, about the colors. It looks like you have a lot of different colors but everything seems very very blue. Maybe when you change your MH's you could go for a 12000K bulb, or even a 10000K. Just an idea.

I had read that starfish was not reef safe and was wondering about ur experience so far with it? Any invertebrate problems?

thanks so much im just about due to change my mh bulbs to a higher kelvin so i hope this will bring the color of fish out better. As for the starfish im really not sure what he is eating but it has not done any damage to my corals or anything it has been in my tank for about 3 mnths.i did some research on the net to try and find out what it should be eating ive gotten mixed anwsers from different sites.im also have a austrailian sea slug im havin the same proboblem with both seem to be doing ok just dont know what to feed them.most of the research kept mentioning they both will eat sponge so a bought a piece of red ball sponge and put ti in the tank to see if they would eat it but they dont seem to pay it any mind.If anyone has any info on these 2 inverts please let me know.i will post pics of these 2 inverts later on.

IMO backrounds should be painted black only. Great colors. And did u use reflective paint for the backround? It looks super reflective, my black reflects a little bit but urs looks like a mirror. Overall it is a really nice setup.
