It can be done, but make sure they up near the top of the tank. I had mine in a 75 gal with 384W, 5.12w/gal. Just watch for any discoloration or bleaching effect. If you can afford MH, that is the way to go though. The more lighting the better.

I have the same wattage in my 55 gallon. My crocea and squamosa are doing fine. I dose heavily with DT phyto, the rationale being that a lot of supplemental food would help because of the low light (for a clam).
