I have a hospital tank that I'm using organicure in. It say's it's safe for shrimp and crabs but I don't believe it. It's 1.25% copper and 17% formaldehyde. My questions are:
A. Is there a way to clean your equipment off from the copper? B. The parasite?
C. Is copper permanent in feeding tubes? On tongs? test tubes?
D. Will a fresh water rinse be suffice on these?
Thanks,
Mike

I was going over this issue myself. I don't think a freshwater rinse will do. I'd worry about ick cysts being on your equipment. I'd new equipment for you main tank and keep the other equipment for your hospital. I assume you mean syphon hoses, buckets, etc. I'm paranoid, so that's what I would do.

I hear you on the paranoid... I've got to test the water in my hospital tank now, but I was worried about contaminating my test tubes with either copper or ich. I've got 3 tanks now and I'm in the process of setting up the forth. That's a lot of equipment to keep up with.

some of the books I've read state that you should have separate nets, hydrometers, etc., etc. for a qt tank to prevent cross contamination. Nothing should be shared.
