cucumber?beneficial or disaster?

my friend was offing his tank and sold it to me for 5 bucks.
seems to be eating like a beast leaving a trail of white "poop?"
question is is there a potential for a "cuke nuke"(from what I have read from the posts).
I have a pygmy angel,tomato clown,sixline, with shrimps and red legs.
Also what does he do?in regards to being beneficial?any things I need to know?

They are beneficial because they stir the sand, and eat left over food and fish waste. The white poop trail is just sand that he has eaten for the nutrients on it. I've had a sand sifting cuke for over a year now, and have had no detrimental effects with it.
