I am fighting a mess of a problem in my saltwater FOWLR tank. I am 99% certain it was Ich, we eventually removed all inverts and started treating with Cupramine and Prazipro. I am testing with the RedSea Cu test kit recommended by my LFS. I have already dosed 100ml in a 125 gallon tank with 40 gallon sump and I am not getting past .2 PPM. This is a display tank with extensive live rock (dry and live seeding for about 1 month), sand/gravel bed, bioballs, socks, deep gravel refugium. I am not seeing ammonia but the fish continue to die presumably from the disease. Could the rocks and gravel being sucking up that much copper that we are not getting to level?
Very sad about the amazing fish that we have lost including a juv. blueface last night and coral beauty today.

Your problem is that the LR and LS are acting like sponges and absorbing the copper. You should not treat DT with copper for this reason. Traces of copper will remain in LR & LS long after you stop treating and will kill off inverts. Angel fish do not respond well to copper in the first place. you need to remove the LR & LS to a separate container, do a ton of water changes till you get copper reading of 0 B4 you can them with inverts. Basically you have turn your LR & LS into base rock and sand. My be cheaper to buy new.

I have used Cupramine and it says on the bottle not to use it with any other treatments. ALso carbon or anything else that might absorb it - like they said no live rock, good luck.
