Cured LR...really?

Hey,
I've been looking at live rock(internet sources)lately and most say that it is already cured, but that when the rock gets to the destination it would have to be put in a 30 gal trash can with aged water and have the water changed a few times or go into the tank and half 1/2 of the tank changed out.
Would this have to be done if the rock was purchased locally...I live in a shared apt. and I'm trying to keep 30-40 gallon water changes to a minimum.
Thanks
Peace
Mike

If the rock is fully cured locally, you wouldn't need to recure it before putting it in the tank.
The rock from online sources need to be cured upon arrival because of the die-off from shipping.

OK...kinda thought that might be it. Time to hit the LFSs and see what they have, been to one and the stuff looked like it didn't have that many goodies on it and it was ten dollars a pound there. I may just have to bite the bullet and be prepared for a big water change.
Thanks
Peace
Mike
