cureing live/base rock

I just bought a new house and I am going to convert my curent 29gal FOWLR that has been up for 6months into a new 55gal. I don't have to be out of my old house until the end of augest so my plan is to have the 55gal cycled and ready to move into by then. I am remodleing the living room so I am not ready to set up my tank and let it cycle yet, but I do have the basement cleaned out so I could cure so LR while I wait.
I have 25#LR in my current 29gal that is fully set up with fish. I plan to purchase 25# more plus a guy has givin me a 5gal bucket full of rock he picked up from the beach to use as base rock. I am thinking I could take a rubbermaid container with a milk crate inside to use as a shelf. Put the base rock on the bottom and the new LR on the top. a heater and a good powerhead to keep the water moveing and maybe an over the top filter with no carbon just to clean out junk.
This way in a week or two when I move the new 55gal in I could move all the criters in the 29gal into a smaller holding tank. Use the 40#LS from the 29gal tank and add some bagged LS (whole other topic) Use the 20#LR that was in my 29gal set up plus the 25#LR and extra base rock that I just finished cureing in the basement. Fill with some fresh RO saltwater and wait for a possible spike.
Do you think my plan will work? Do you think I could do it by the end of August? What would you do differently?
