Curing L/R

O.K.,
I gonna setup my 100gal tank in a couple weeks but it has to go where my current stand is. Sooo I put my 200 lbs of southdown in a barrel and seeded it with l/s l/r from my current system. Dropped in some formula one and a airpump. Do I need to stir this stuff everyday or let it be? Not sure what would be better, I know it wont cycle in two weeks but it's a jump start, and I'll set up my current system in the basement for now.

A power head would be helpful in the barrel. If you have a way to run a protein skimmer in the curing vat, it would do a lot to speed curing. I don't recommend you add fish food, as this will only add decaying matter to the water, and slow things. I wouldn't worry about stirring it. You could add some uncured live rock and cure it at the same time.

I add the food instead of shrimp only to feed the critters which will help them multiply. I didn't put in a ph because the water was so cloudy I thought it would make things worse. I will throw that in tonight, The water is clear now. thanks.
