put snails of any sort in there predrilled over flow area of there tank. My tnak is algea free but I have to use my hand to scoop in the predrilled container area to remove lots of algea on occasion. Does anyone put turbo snails or anything in thiers ? I want to but If they fall off the suface and can't get off the bottom then they'll die because I can't get to them to help.

You may try a black cap on top of it to stop the light from getting in it.

i've got some margharitas that actually crawl over the overflow to get at the algae in there. i did put a turbo in and took it's empty shell out a few weeks later.

Remember the algae that you are harvesting is full of nutrient that is being exported from your tank. Not a bad thing me thinks.......
