Currents

I have removed as much red slime that I could.(*problem was water I used to top off, lots of phosphate*)
I moved some rocks as well. I had a strong current before I moved the rocks and now I have like no current at all. What is best? to have a current or not? If so strong, mild, or weak.
Also in the move I've found 3 more anemones growing on the LR.

Lack of current is yet another cause of bad algae growth. You should have enough water movement to eliminate any dead spots in the tank.It doesnt need to be strong, just well placed.

Thats the thing.....
I had a strong current, when I moved the rocks I placed a rock that now blocks the current. Wasn't sure if that was ok or not. Guess not..
Thanks

Low current is one cause, but also if your tank is fairly new. When I converted from 75 to 125 I had brown and red algae up the butt. Now finally it's starting to go away and I have really good circulation. I would make sure your phosphates and nitrates are low and just give it some time. I assume you have a reef tank, but if you don't, Calcium does wonders. If you keep your calcium up good algae really starts to take over. TJ
