Any thoughts on the Custom SeaLife Power Compacts with built in Moonlights? Has anyone had any experience with these? I'm looking into purchasing a 48 inch ballast for my new 75 reef which I'm starting up. Opinions, comments, suggestions? :help:

P.S. Here is the link to the one I'm considering...you can't purchase the item from the site, so it shouldn't be a problem posting, right?

i love it, we use it for our 55g, very nice lights. although for the price they cost you could build a hood, get a 2 workhorse 7 ballasts and 4 48" VHO's (110 watts) but thats just what i would do. but yes they are nice lights, moon light is nice.

Here's what I would go with they are a little cheaper and I have had wonderful success with it.

there's no way to buy from the site listed and it is merely a product overview.
I sell both of these from my store and lke the concept of the moonlight, but do not like the looks or durability. The coralife deluxe aqualight with the 4 x 65 watts is very sleek and is impressive in it's design features.

Both are nice. But the custom sea life has the nice feature of the moonlights built in.
The coralife is a little more sleek though

I have always thought that CustomSeaLife makes better lights and fixtures than Coralife. I guess it is a matter of opinion though, since both are good.

Yeah... I think I would have to say that for overall quality, I would say CSL has it... Even if they are tied in actual quality, the customer service that CSL offers is top notch in my dealings with them.

I have that same CSL fixture on my 75 and love it! In fact, I just ordered the 30" fixture today for my 29 gallon:) You won't be sorry if you buy it.....

I just today purchased two of the 36" fixtures for my 125 (together with a seperate 220 watt vho system)...I almost went with the coralife, but in the end heard better things about these guys. Thanks to everyone for giving their opinions. I have heard that the fans ar nice and quiet too, you can keep them in your bedroom.
