I've been looking into these tanks a bit and was thinking about getting one. I like the hood thing deal except for the stock lighting. Well I was wondering if any of you guys have an eclipse and if so could you pretty please post a pic of it. Another thing is I was wondering all the sizes they came in.

Hi YAE4Volcom -
We have 2 eclipse tanks currently. We have a 47 Gal, and 6 Gal. I really love them. They're very nice looking, and we haven't had a problem yet. In the big one, we've changed from the standard lighting to VHO (for now anyway), and it bolts right in. When we wan't to upgrade again, we're gonna have to buy the whole package for compact florescent. (not too expensive though).
The 6 Gal hasn't had many upgrades - it's FOWLR. I'm looking into a 3 Gal eclipse for dwarf seahorses. I can get it for about $30.00.
I know they have a 29 Gal, but not too sure what else. As far as I know, they only have Tall Tanks, I've never seen Long ones. Don't have pics yet, hopefully soon. Lost the cord to go from the camera to the computer...

The sea-horse tank sounds like a good idea. I saw the 3g, the 6g, and the 14g but have not seen the 29. I would probably go with that and customize the lights if I can. Where did you see the 29g? Thnx for the reply.

Well I saw that "How big is your nano" post. Those were some really cool 12 gallons. I want something a little bigger though. Like a 29g. Got some ideas from that fan thing. Anyway does eclipse make a 29g?

Guess I will go with the 12 gallon then I like the acrylic. Do you know if 20-25 lb liverock is to much for a 12? I wanted to buy from this site and that's all they have. Guess the extra will be trash =( or ill just pile it in there.
Anyway about skating. Well I don't skate but I surf. I went to hawwai this summer it was sweet. Saw some fish too on this commercial submarine tour. They had sunken ships and boats and stuff. Thnx for the replys

Reeferdude I already did email you =)

We already talked but I'm still thinking. I just want something bigger than a 6 for my first tank. I wish you did that on the 12's........that would be perfect.

Well fist of all, I don't have room for a 55g and if its anything bigger then a 15 I have to put it on my desk and study on the ground. I was looking at the nano size thread and there is a 12 gallon. Bdough posted a pic of one. The rest are six I know. Even so it doesn't really matter I just got ideas from the fan thing. Shouldn't be to hard. Ill just start with the stock and then install the new lights and fan later.

That sounds pretty cool. Thnx for checking for me. About the price, that's not bad considering the eclipse is 80-90 dollars (forget which one)

No reason to get snappy :) . The reason I suggested a 55g is it's easier to maintain a larger tank. A 12g tank will not be very forgiving.

Sorry about the snappyness =D
I was originally going to get a 55g but it just seems so much easier this way. I know everyone says smaller is not cheeper but in many ways it is.
1. The tank is a ton cheaper
2. 100 dollars less live rock
3. No skimmer
4. No stand and canopy
I wouldn't mind paying for it but what if something bad happend and I wouldn't be able to run the tank. With the eclipse 12 I wouldn't be too far in to get myself out. I'm not saying I'm not commited but I might go to boarding school soon. (don't think I could hide a 55 from the teachers =) Anyway........do you have any suggestions to keep water levels stable in a 12 gallon. I know about doing water changes but is there anything else to know. I'm going to get my tank in about a week. I'm still not sure when I should add my 20-25 lb live rock. I don't even know if it will all fit.
Anyway thnx for the replys

I understand what you mean... the bigger it is, the more $$$ it is... You can add the LR now if you want. It will help your tank cycle.:) - Tara
