Cutest fish ever!

I think this has to be the cutest fish ever! He/she is a Possum Wrasse and has the best personality, likes to stay out in the open and be seen.
Also posting a couple of the sexy shrimp because they're cute too.

Possum wrasse is docile so calm/non-agressive tank mates otherwise he'll hide all the time. They'll eat just about anything you put in the tank, mysis, cyclops, brine, pellet, flake but it needs to be on the smaller side, they have tiny little mouths. Minimum of a 20 gallon tank and some rock work to take shelter in if it gets spooked. Nothing outrageous or special really.
So far this one prefers to swim out in the open in the upper half of the tank away from the LR.
I need to get a pic of him/her from the front because this fish has little pink puckered up lips.

Cool fish, like it. If its reef safe I might get one! too bad the site doesnt sell them. Is he/she nipping at the coral on the second pic?

Scott Michaels book "Reef Aquarium Fishes" lists them as safe with soft and stony corals as well as ornamental crustaceans. They are "an occsional threat to other invertebrates" but I haven't seen him bother anyone yet.
He also says they are quite suitable for nano's if only one is kept and recommends not keeping them with aggressive fish that would intimidate them.

no just the LR, they apparently like to eat the little critters that live on it.

Bill109 he was $27.00 and was at the LFS, they had ordered one to see how it would do. They're great about ordering "different" stuff, he was there for about 4 weeks and I kept oogling over him so they held him for me to make sure he was doing well.

Do you know if he would compete for pods?
Because I want to keep a mandarin but I dont want him competing for pods

OMG! That is soooo my kind of fish!! What a cutie!! Looks like she's got pink lipstick on!

I would want one that looks just like that one. I saw a few online and they didn't look as cute as yours does! You've got a beauty there!

The books I have show 2 primary species but it looks like the coloring can vary within them.
So far he's doing great, he was at the LFS for a total of 6 weeks and then I brought him home and have had him for 1 week. He seems quite happy and despite there being plenty of nooks and caves for him spends most of his time swimming out in the open. Also, everything that I have read says that they are NOT prone to parasitic infection, doesn't mean they can't get them but they're pretty hardy little guys.
As far as him eating pods they will eat "tiny worms and crustaceans" so I guess they would compete with a mandarin for pods but only the tiny ones because he couldn't get the pods in my tank in his tiny little mouth.
Oh yeah and i'm pretty sure this one is a male because the bands are yellow and according to the literature if it were female the bands would stay whitish like the juveniles.
