cutting out old silicone

I used copper meds in my 29g tank. Well now I want to set it up again and I'm going to clean it good and cut out the old silicone and reseal it to get any traces of copper out of the tank. Is it hard to remove the old silocone after you cut it with a razor blade?

If you cut it from both edges... follow the glass paines... it should fall right out. Just be sure and replace it with aquarium silicone ONLY. Do a search and you'll see I and many others have given reasons why before.

get one of those small razors that have the metal handles rounded like a pen. its helps run it along the pane of glass to get every bit of silicone off worked great for me.
