cuttlefish

i'vw never kept one but i do know they have a very short life span of like a year or so, they are incredibly aggressive and should not be put with small fish. They do best in a spieces tank, should be relatively easy to care for cuz they eat anything smaller or the same size as they are. pretty intelligent kinda of like octopi but not as smart.

if you do some research on this fish you will find its a very difficult fish to keep.as with octapi they have a tendancy to stress fairly easy making them shoot ink in the wind these fish dispurse the ink and flee, but in a tank they have no where to go and end up poisoning themselves.just something to think about

I read that they needed chillers and get startled very easily and can shoot ink or run into the glass killing themselves

that is true of the common eurpean varity, but the cuttle that i have (recieved today) is a tropical water species, and actualy crawls or hovers on the bottom of the tank most often

if you want to know more about cuttlefish or other cephs for in the aquarium, go to www.tonmo.com, i recieved mine from the only breeder i know of in the states of s. benensis, which is the tropical cuttlefish i have. the main reason why i chose this species, is that they only get 4" max and can tolerate higher temps. makeing them sutible for tanks as small as 25 gal. i will post some pics soon.

my high school took a trip to the zoo were they keep cuttlefish. they HAD like 5 or 6 of them. a group of boys were being jurks and thought it would be a great idea to hit the glass. they all hit it and scared one of them, made one ink, and they all died. i was so mad at them. the sad thing is they didnt even care that about what they ahd done, and the teacher that was with them laughed about it while they were doing it
dumb@$$e$ if u ask me
