It has came back again. Nothing in water has shown a change and I have tested everything but the texture of the stand. I am anout to give up and go fish only. This is twice in a year and I have not done anything different than before. Could this be intorduced from new inhabitants and just grow in tank?

Cyanobacteria is present in all walks of life...when given an opportunity to grow..it does.
Have you done a large water change lately?

I am a rowaphos fan. If you havn't tried it and all else failed you might want to give it a try. Worked for me. I first changed bulbs, added powerhead, skimmer, and caulpera. Increased water changes and anything else that was suggested. Rowaphos is what finally got rid of the problem.

i get cyano every summer and in the winter none...go figure my temp only fluctuates 2 degrees during this time and thats the only thing that changes or is different about my tank.
