i went away to charlotte a few weeks ago, let my dad take care of my tank and now i have cyano and it won't go away. i've done 3 25% water changes each week but still shows no signs of weakening. i cut down the food to just once a day. i even cut down how long the lights are on. what do i do now?

"Cyno" is becoming a generic term; can you be more specific? Is it red slime? Can you post a pic? Reef, or FOWLR?

it's the red slime and it's a reef tank. i would use that red slime remover but i hear its a temporary solution

You can keep at it with what you're doing. Eventually there shouldn't be enough nutrients to continue feeding the growth. You can also take turkey baster and blow off the cyano and then vacuum it up during a water change.
