Find out what is wrong with the water, measure for phosphates and nitrates. Then correct the problem.
In the mean time, reduce tank feeding to about half and do the same with lighting time.
When the red slime starts to disintergrate, you can add an hour of light every otherday until it is back to normal and feed a little more as it clears up.

adding more current helps also. You need to find the cause to rid it . chemi cure may rid it but it may just come back if you don't dicover the source= overstocking ,over feeding, bad tap water, poor filtration ,not enought current
