Cycle Complete Just In Time For Change

My tank finally cycled today after 4 and 1/2 weeks. Now I am going to change it. I will be moving my 150lb lr from my 75gal to my 90gal. If I just could trade the 90 and 75 in for a 150gal I would be in heaven. I have some questions on the move.
What is the best way to move live sand? I figure I would drain the water down to the sand then move as much as I can over to my 90gal. I have about a 2" substrate to move.
Going to put the live rock in a couple tote's w/ water from the tank it was in. If I add a heater and a airstone should that be enough to prevent die off?

Just get a bucket and fill it with some of the water in the tank and scoop the sand into it and move it over to the new tank, no problem.
Live sand and Live rock are as hearty as anything in the tank.
You can buy some play sand and put it in the tank and use the live sand to see the new sand.

Yeah I think I will get some more sand. Noticed a smell when I was rearranging some of my live rock. When I got this live sand a month ago it smelled rotten and I have always been worried about it. I should go ahead and change it out to ease my mind.
Used live sand good for putting in plants or garden? Or will the saltwater kill everything?
