Cycle Confusion, Possible false reading

Hello,
I am a bit confused at the moment with the progress of my cycle. I have a 29 gallon Biocube with 40lbs of live sand and 32 lbs of live rock, I cycled with the die off of the live rock during transportation.
I have witness a huge spike in my Nitrites 5.0 PPM+ it was off the scale and then noticed a spike in my nitrates.
My confusion is this. I have an API test kit and am having a very hard time reading the results. I cannot tell if the ammonia is at 0 or at about .25 My nitrites are unreadable and my nitrates are now 0.
I have a massive Diatom bloom in the tank, Im unsure if this is causing my 0 readings on the Nitrite and Nitrate and the ammonia reading is accurate. Or If the Nitrite and Nitrate really are now at 0 and the ammonia reading is off.
What are your thoughts?

The diatom bloom indicates that your denitrification cycle has completed. My guess is that you are ready for a fish.

If you used a dechlorinator that likely is giving you a false ammonia reading. If this is the case then I would just start ghost feeding to prove the tank is cycled, adding a small amount of fish food to see if the nitrate goes up.
