cycle question

Its been 5 days since I've aded live rock and live sand to my tank. I did my tests today and everything is normal. Should it take longer than 5 days to start a cycle? What is going on?

I have checked my old post, where I was told to wait 2 days and check again and I should see a reaction. It had been 3 days since I checked the levels and still no reaction. That's why I am posting again. Thank you

Throw in a raw shrimp. My levels went up very quickly, and my tank is now finishing its cycle (ammonia back to 0, nitrites back to 0, and nitrates elevated but dropping). Worked well, and as an added bonus, I blackened the other seven tiger prawns from the package I bought in cajun spices...quite nice.
