cycle temp

im in the middle of the cycle, woke up this morn and noticed the temp was 76...its been at 80. It was turned down a bit yesterday, cause it got to 82..do you think its ok...nothing in there but the live rock critters and sand...O, should I leave my lights on when its in the cycle..or just turn them off?

The temperature can flucuate a little bit. Especially in the summertime when it gets warm outside. 82 degrees is ok. 84 is starting to get up there a bit. For the most part as long as the temperature change is gradual the fish wont care.
During the cycle could leave the lights on for like 6 hours or so. That will kind of help you notice when the cycle is nearing completion as well because the brown diatom algae will start growing like mad.
