Get this I put a raw shrimp in my tank a week ago and left it in for two days...the ammonia rose to 1.5...and its still 1.5 a week later with no nitrites...is this normal?
it seems like a unaturally long time for nitrites to develop. I still dont have any LR in the tank yet, but I have 45lbs on the way.

Every tank is different, but this could be normal, a week is not far fetched. Continue to monitor the tank scores. If this goes another week with no change then I would say something is possably wrong.
