Looks like you are off to a good start in there.
You might want to consider returning any inverts to a more mature tank or trading them in for credit at the LFS. Snails and such don't like cycling tanks.......the ammonia will normally kill them. Good luck.

I put some aged filter media from my older tank in there and for the past week or so ammonia has been undetectible. Snail was free and is doing good so far. Also thew thing in the first picture isn't xenia.

Is the item in question stiff?
Looks like some type of macro algea to me.

Yes, it's stiff. Looks like a bush. It;s the 1st picture BTW.
