Ok,
I have 25 #'s of live rock. 2 bags of live sand, three damsels in my 75 tank. "Cycling is taking place. I have noticed that some light brown "stuff" is growing on the sand. What is that?

if i was you i would get the damsels out of the tank before you put any other fish in it because they get agressive when they are the first fish in a tank. It will be hard to get the out with that rock in there also.
So, Are diatoms good or bad? From what I read, diatoms are algae.....Did I do something wrong?
The reason why I have the damsels is to speed up the cycling process. I will take them out before adding new fish....I'll make sure to buy a big net.
