Would i have less die off if i cycled my tank first then put in my live sand and live rock?

Put it all in to start with or you could possibly have two cycles.

If by die off you are refering to the live rock, it does not usually come from the cycling water, the die off on LR comes from what dies during the shipping process. So you will want to put your LR and LS in and then you can cycle with grocery store shrimp.
