Just bought some of that stuff and was wondering how to feed stuff. mostly bought it for my corals, so what do you do. today when i tried, i mixed it with some tank water and sprayed it over my corals. is that what you do? or something else?
***PS, i would love to see some before and after pics of peoples corals when you fed them this, and tell how long of a time period. thank you so much

Depending on what type of corals you have, the method of pouring it in the tank with tank water to feed the entire tank will do fine for corals with tentacles. Do this just after the lights have turned out at night. My LPS reach out for the stuff. The fish have gone to bed, so this is optimum time to feed them. Now with sun corals, and such that need to be spot fed you would use a turkey baster for this.
I had to train my tank for evening feedings.....after the fish are in "bed" or they would get all the food. I used shrimp juice to entice the tentacles to come out. Even my open brain reacted to this method. Now, about a month later, I do not need to shrimp juice the tank. They are on a time schedule now.
Cyclopeeze is good stuff, just don't over feed the tank. I alternate between cyclops and DT's.

well, i dont really have corals with long tenticals, although i might get a frogspawn when i find a good deal. all i have is a kenya tree, xenia, orange, purple, green mushrooms and a green ric. now, how do you over feed the tank? is there a solution you go by, IE, __Water+__Cyclopeeze=__amount of gallons?

I don't really have a formula, but I use a 1/2 Tablespoon for my 125. Hope this helps. I feed the tank about 3 times a week. Most of the coral get more than enough from my halides to sustain them.
Overfeeding just pollutes the water, and feeds the micro/macro fauna. Resulting in other issues. Your tank, I would only feed twice weekly, ( at most) because of your type of coral.

The corals you listed will not accept cyclopeeze or any other food except for the ricordea which will be very difficult to feed.

I feed cyclopeeze daily to my fish and corals, I have anthias whos natural food is cyclopeeze, my queen won't eat much else, so cyclopeeze daily is a must for my tank. You can take a turkey baster and spot feed your mushrooms and other corals, or just put a skirt or to in your tank and you will see your musrooms mouths extend, some of mine actually close completely up while eating.

Mushrooms can be spot-fed. I feed my shrooms about once a week.

turn off pumps in the tank and skimmer and turkey baste your corals. the cyclops will settle right on top the corals and make it easier for them to feed. Then turn the pumps back on for a minute or two to push the uneaten cyclops off the seabed for round two. That way the overflow/filter/skimmer doesnt suck the stuff right up and let it sit on filter media and rot- well less anyway. this is just what I do, IMO it works well.

You're right. Some can be fed, but not all mushrooms can be.

i dont think ricordeas are very hard to feed
mine has been known to eat whole fish!

If you have shrimp or picky fish they will rob most corals before they have a chance to digest it. I have to swat at my cleaner shrimp and peppermint shrimp to keep them from stealing the coral's food!

I can show you plenty of before and afters, like what it looked like when i first got it, and how it looks now, but who knows if its cyclopeeze or my water paremiters and lighting that didn't make the difference. Like I said in an earlier post, i feed cyclopeeze heavily in my tank more for my anthias then corals, and everything is thriving, fish and corals.

I bought some frozen cyclops for the 1st time, and everything in my tank is thriving from it. Been waiting for months for a blue mushroom to leave me some babies & since using the cyclops, she's left me 4.

I am SOOOOO tired of my shrimp robbing my corals of their food!!! I am seriously considering never buying anymore shrimp because of this.
