Cyclopeeze?

Forgive me for asking such a basic question but WHAT IS IT and how much/often should I put some in the tank? I have a 12 gallon Eclipse with 1 lbs. of live rock, some base rock and an inch of live sand. The only livestock in there is a tiger pistol shrimp, a few snails, a few hermits, and a feather duster. When I bought the feather duster I asked the guy at the LFS what I should feed it and he handed me a can of Cyclopeeze. I took it home intending to read all the fine print and instructions on the can but unfortunately it wasn't a very informative read! Is this something I'm supposed to put in daily? Just float it at the top? How much? I'm trying to feed very little since I don't have any fish in there but I don't want to starve the poor inverts/FD either. Do I want to get some of the Cyclopeeze right next to the FD or does it dissolve into the water and then he extracts it from there? Sorry again but I'm not finding much info on this product.

Cyclopeeze is generally a fish and coral food. Asfar as your feather duster goes. It needs Phytoplankton A Much smaller food than cyclopeeze :) I dont feed my feather duster anything though and its super happy. I do have a well established 24 gal nano with over 30 lbs of live rock that is almost 1 year old so i am sure there are plenty of nutrients it is getting from all that :) I have used phyto before and they do seem to love it along with all the other corals ! So i would take the cyclopeeze back and get some phyto

I agree with blazin unless you plan on getting any thing else for your tank. I like to feed my tank cyclops every so often. Its a larger micron and some of my corals and my anemone love it. Be cautious if you decide to use any of them, phyto is the smallest of all planktons, its many thousands of microns per part, maybe millions (not sure the exact amount) my point is its very very easy to OD your tank on the stuff.

Just noticed I lost a digit in my original post - I have 12 pounds of live rock in the tank, not "1".
Thanks for the replies, but I'm still not sure what this orangey powder-like substance is. (can't take it back - I've opened the can of Cyclo). Is it ground up fish that has been fortified with good stuff? I can't imagine it benefits the crabs, snails, shrimp or feather duster because it's too small to be "eaten". and if I do want to put some in the tank once in a while, how much is enough/not enough in a 12 gallon tank? A tiny pinch? A teaspoon? The can tells me NOTHING.
I hate being a newbie.
