D40? D60?

if you go with a d40, shop around a lot. my good friend got one for $250 brand new (not from an octioning site). i would get the sony a200 though. its got specs much great thean those cameras for 500 bucks.

the d40, d60 are very similar the 60 has a few added features like automatic sensor cleaning and a few others. i just picked up the 60 at best buy because the have a few different package deals going on till 8/2. i got the camera w/ 18-55mm lens + 55-200mm lens + SB600 speedlight flash + UV filter. there are some other packs that sub other things like a tripod or 55-300mm lens, or carrying case. they start at $1009 up to $1300. i would have much rether got a macro lens for the tank but it was not an option so im saving up for that, thing is with 10MP its pretty easy to get a good shot and just zoom in and crop it heres a thread with some shots from the D60. of course im went from a 3MP point n' shoot to this so im blown away

We have a D40, and love it! Got a package from best buy with the camera, an 18-55mm, and a 55-200mm. I cant wait till I we get a macro lens!

Yeah, im not sure what size my laptops screen is but I had to do a quite exptensive search on each picture to find anything that was actually supposed to be in the picture lol! It was very unbelieveably hard for me lol. thanks though. I think I will be picking up the D40. I wanted the D60, but the differences in the body dont make too much of a difference to me. the image quality is in the lens, not so much the camera body so I think I will go with the D40. Thanks everyone and keep 'em coming!
