dallas cowboys

So (go away if you're just going to hate the cowboys) what do you guys think?
Personally, I think it can be summed up as, we aren't the most talented team in the NFL anymore. (now I know someone from AZ who is a seahawks fan is going to spit whatever he has in his mouth all over the screen.) But I think you can make a good argument that talent wise the last 2 years they were dang talented, just underperformed. And coming from the point of playing at their best, I'd take the Boys to win, or with maybe the Pats, Steelers and Indy to go back and forth and it would be a tossup.
We're back where we were the first year that Romo started. We have absolutely no chance against a team with a good quarterback. Our secondary is a joke.
Roy Williams is a good 2nd reciever at best.
And Jason Carrot is not the offensive genius that everyone made him out to be. Bill Parcels was onto something not starting Marion Barber over Julius Jones. It is hard to lose when you have the ball and are in the lead... Nor did Marion get hurt the entire season. I think we'd be well served to use Choice like Julius Jones. Then use Felix and Marion as specialty backs (that is if Choice can learn to block) It might be fun to see Marion in the first quarter but would rather see him inside the 20 and in the second half. Vs not seeing him at all...

Jason Garrett needs to go...then things will start to improve. Offensive play calling has bene horrible the last 2 weeks.

I am just trying to figure out how the heck I won my fantasy match up this week

I think Romo is one of those QB's that is going to be less effective as the defenses figure him out. The Boys need to steal another top end receiver to help him out I think.
Oh yeah, COWBOYS SUCK!!!

I like the two fade routes they called from the 1 yard line with the best run blocking line in the league.

Dallas is a notch below the G-Men (contrary to Darth's opinion), and a small notch below the Iggles in talent, and a big notch in below in coaching. Andy Reid and Tom Coughlin are far superior to Wade Phillips. Injuries throughout the year can change everything though, the Giants are getting banged up on D.
They have a fairly easy stretch in their schedule upcoming, this game at Denver will be an important one. Their last five are brutal.
As Reefraff said, the Cowboys suck, and I would add, all their fans are narrowminded and semi-delusional.

Perhaps I should start a thread about the Cardinals

Several things I see.
1. G-men are not that much better. Anytime a team takes away the ball 4 times without turning the ball over and they still need a field goal at the end of the game to win, there are some problems. Dallas turned the ball over 4 times during that game, and they still were in the game. That should tell you something about potential. If the cardinals were +4 in turnovers, you can't tell me they would only win by two.
2. The boys have been running the ball great. Wew have the best triplets in the league hands down. There is no argument there. Choice is not a great blocker though, we saw that this last game. This is why Barber is the starter over choice.....that and barber wears down a defense a bit more. Felix averages 9 yards per carry. through three games our back average a combined almost 8 ypc leading the league....so running is not our problem...The team with the next best running game is a whole 30 yards behind us per game and needed an extra 17 carries to get that close
3. Romo...needs better protection...when he isn't hurried with defenders breathing down his neck regularly his is fine....our line is great at run blocking, but not so much at pass protection....
4. Roy williams and the receiving core....I am tired of hearing this. everyone says roy is great #2. Give me a break, he was THE GUY in Detroit for the last few years before they drafted johnson...Roy has the potential to do it again. But you don't need to have 1 guy standing out. Dallas has 3 receivers listed in the top 50 in the league, the only other team that equals or beats these stats is arizona, what is their record again?
Only 4 other teams in the league score more points than us.
Our problem is pass defense...which may be taken care of now since we shut down Steve Smith for the most part. Granted the panthers aren't the prolific passing team they used to be. Run defense was our problem, but we held two of the best runners in the game to under 80 some odd yards and held the entire giants and panthers team to under 100 yards...
And I am tired of hearing about the 38 TDs that are now gone with TOs departure. Michel irvin, the best receiver in dallas history had a combined 38 TDs in his 5 FIVE FIVE FIVE best consecutive seasons.....The superbowl years, he had TD totals of 8,7, and 6.......
The boys, while not as great as their potential a few years ago....are not really as bad as many of you make them out to be.
They have a better record than both teams that played in the super bowl last year....and those teams still have all their key players intact on the team....

I root for the Hawks 14 weeks a year, I did go to college there and will of course be a Husky fan till I die. I figure I'm spending the remainder of my working life in Phoenix, I may as well support the home team....If the Bidwell's continue to be cheapskates, I will go back to the Hawks. I became a Cards fan the day I knew I was moving to Phoenix.

You don't consider Troy Palamolalamalu a key player? Have you ever watched a Steeler game? The dude is one of the 3 most important defensive players in the league, let alone on the Steelers.
Cards are missing Todd Haley...Chiefs probably wishing they didn't have him.

But he is still on the team...this is what I was referring to....Injures can't be prevented...but retaining good players can be.
Dallas lost key players during free agency...where these two teams did not...that was my point.

Yeah but the cowboys never passed when inside the 20 unless it was to big no 84...

listening to local radio today there are alot of romo haters here.
a fan that was at the game said he heard more noise at his sons highschool football game than at the stadium.
dont look too good for the team again this season.
my friend was at a bar a few weeks ago and jerry jones was there drinking cheap $2 drinks and making out with a 25 yr old.
he has pics in his phone ,jones looked wasted.

What does that have to do with TO's TD count compared to Irvin's? I am not following you....
2 things really, one there is more than one way to score. We don't need to have one wr with tons of TD's.

BTW Chad or Rueben, does Flozell Adams have a brain?? He just fined for the 3rd week in a row, this time for trying to kick Julius Peppers....Actually nevermind, I'm all for that, J Pep is the most overpaid player in the NFL and deserves to be kicked for making 17 mill a year and playing hard about 1/3rd of the time.

Lol...To be honest Flozell has been a major gripe for me for years. The guy for a while there was averaging 2 false start penalties a game....may as well just have someone do the job of pass and run blocking for less money so we can get better talent in other positions and just eat 2 sacks a game......Dallas would make out better in the long run I think.
Great, now that we are on first name basis...I am forced to go look yours up now as well...

I really wanted to see Romo be great, so I could hate da Boys again. Unfortunately, after 3 seasons he is still not able to make clutch decisions consistently. The coach is going to be fired and it isn't his fault. Romo needs to be put on the bench a couple games just to settle him down and get rid of some of his over-sized ego. He hasn't earned the right to believe in his own greatness yet and that ego will keep him from progressing to his potential.
