im looking to put a few damsel fish (id like them to be on the larger side) to put in my 30 gallon, i was think 3-5 domnios or sgt. major. i dont care how agressive they get since they will be the only ones in the tank, i just want some active fish, te tank is 3 years old and there is a starfish snails and a snowflake moray in there now.

I think a 30 gallon is kinda small for an eel in my opinion I would take it out and put it in a bigger tank. Putting a dwarf lion fish in the tank with that eel wouldnt be a good idea but if you were to just have the lion fish only in the tank i think it would be fine. As for the damsels some may fight and end up killing each other or your eel may make a meal of the them.
But if you were to add some damsels I would maybe add like a group of 3 yellow tail blue damsels.

30 gallon will be fine for the snowfalke for about a year. They grow fairly slow. The dominos are the meanest. Look for Damsels with color. The yellow blue mixes are gorgeous fish and very active. Not just yellow tails Im talking the yellowback damsels. I forget the name.

Dominos are cool looking but they get pretty large & can be very aggressive towards even larger fish.
I like bluedevils. & 3 or 4 stripe damsels.

I believe the blue damsels with yellow on their tail and back is the fiji damsel. I have one. He isn't as aggresive as my 3 stripe damsel but I think they are both agressive. If you are looking for color and movement some of the anthia's are very beautiful fish. And they live well together in groups. You may have to rehome the eel though. I you want movement though I wouldn't get the dwarf lion. Most of the time you have to search for them in the tank. They are not very active at all.
