damsel

we have recently started a 55 gallon tank with five damsels. they have been in the tank about 12 days. one of the damsels appears to have one eye that is puffy and a little cloudy. is this a disease or is it possible he was nipped by one of the other damsels. if its a disease whats the proper treatment if i dont have a quarantine tank? thanks for your help!!

If you are going to cycle a new tank with live fish, then expect them to get sick. Have you checked your ammonia and nitrite readings?
To avoid scarificing fish health and life on new tanks cycle your tank with dead, but fresh shrimp.
Popeye is a symptom of a disease or an injury.

treatment would be maracyn and maracyn 2, but is it worth it, this medicne is expensive. I agree you should of cycled the tank with raw shrimp or uncured live rock, plus those little damsels will be a pest to other fish in the future and are hard as hell to catch to remove.
