Damsels and bigger fish

If I were to put a trigger or a coral beauty in my 40 gallon tank, would the two 3 stripe damsels go after it? I've heard that they're not exactly the most sociable fish but will they really try starting something with something that is bigger than it?

I know that the damsels would mess with the angel. But they might leave the trigger alone. It would be best to get rid of the damsels. I also do not think angel and a trigger would get along that well either. Triggers can be or get pretty MEAN. I have never seen the two together.

Well,if you put a trigger in there, you can say goodbye to the damsels. If you put a coral b or any other non aggresive fish in,yes they might pick on it.This is because they become territorial.HTH

The damsels would stress the CoralB, but IME a trigger would be fine. A number of years ago I had an aggressive tank with a huma trigger and my three-stripe damsel and he were best friends! Always swam together, ate together, and slept in the same coral cave together. It was pretty cute cuz the trigger was huge, but the little damsel was tough enough to hang out w/ him and be safe.

First off I hope you are going to upgrade your tank size if you are going to get a trigger, all of them need at least a 75 to 100 gal tank. Most damsels will damage to the angle, they think the tank is theirs because they where there first. Good Luck

How big are the damsels? If they are small, get a full grown coralb. and get a trigger the same size of the damsels. This may work out, but when the trigger gets to big, you will hafe to move him, to a bigger tank.
