I added a Royal gramma last night and the 2 blue-yellow tailed damsels seemed to be chasing it around and this morning the gramma has a bite out of his tail and a fin. I assume it's the damsels being nasty. Will they continue this and I should remove them?
Damsels are aggressive and territorial. They will never get along with other fish. Remove them and return to LFS.
But if you truly like damsels,,which are a good looking fish, maybe you can set up a smaller, damsels- only tank.
I have one Yellow tailed damsel and a royal gramma. They seem to get along pretty good. Of course they were added to the tank at the same time, before they had a chance to choose a teritory.

Yea, that is the problem. The Royal Gramma was added in afterwards. They may kill the Royal Gramma. You can try to move the rock work around.
If I were you and this is no easy task but I would take them out and to the LFS. There are alot of fish thatyou can put in there with no problems.
Good Luck with watever you decide to do.
I plan to catch those damsels and put them in the 5 gallon tank and see if my daughter wants them. I need a bigger QT tank anyway. They even have crabby faces don't they? I was warned but they seemed ok but then they were added after there were others there.
our suggestion is that everytime you place any new fish into your tank and you already have damsels in the tank try moving around the rocks where they usually go into. Also damsels are terrotorial so every time you add some new fish they will most likely attack. May i ask how big a tank you have? Because if you have a 55 gallon or smaller they is a higher chance they will attack. The good thing is this should only last 2-4 days give them to adopt. Basically they are just showing that they are the boss of the tank. Give it a little time it should subside. We also have a royal gamma and we 4 types of damsels and usually they will chase the new fish around for a while but then with in 2-3 days it's nothing.
good luck.
i added a stawberry psuedochromi after my yellow tailed damsel. he chased the strawberry around for a day or 2 and now he leaves him alone. doesn't even look at him. i also have a blue damsel that is pretty mild mannered. doesn't bother anybody or anything. added him the same time as the yellow tailed. the yellow tail will not leave him alone at all. chases him all over the place. i think the yellow tail is going to either go to the lfs or into his own tank.

. I Have 2 That Bully Every Fish I Introduce To The Tank. They Even Pick On My Eel. I Might Have To Get Rid Of Them-only Thing Is That They Were My 1st Fish. Also If I Wanted To Put Them In 10 Gallon What Equip. Should I Run On Something That Small? Thanks
I personally would just let the gramma ride. The damsels will get over it and leave him alone after a week or two. The yellow tails aren't really mean, just territorial. Once they get used to the gramma being in there things will subside.
The damsels just seemed to pick on the gramma for that one night. The next day my husband said they left him alone. but the gramma has a bite out of his tail, will this heal or not? Does it grow back?
I did move around the rocks some so that might have helped also.
The tailfin should heal and grow back to normal. Your damsels are probably just showing dominance and territory ownership but in time your gramma will know where NOT to go and they'll live happy together. You have a 90 gallon tank so with fish that small, they should be fine with their own little "territories".
My damsels go after all new comers for a day or two and then leave them alone. I used to have a gramma and he was no exception. The damsels however never leave each other alone! The dominos are chasing each other all the time. I'm amazed that one of them hasn't been killed off yet.
I went to the great effort of removing the 3 damsels from my tank. I removed all the live rock and fed them and blocked them off the with the glass cover. They are now in their own little tank where they will not be terrorizing any more of my fish. What set me off to get them out was I had my arm in there moving a piece of rock and one of them went after me! Nasty little fish and they even look crabby.

I agree
I had one YT damsel that would pick on whatever I put in the tank, impossible to get the little booger out of there. (there is actually a thread on here with a guy who baited a very small hook and fished his out NBS).
Anyway, my foxface was the last fish that the damsel ever picked on, went after his fin one afternoon,...and that was the end of the damsel, learned his lesson I guess.

I've got my hook but just haven't tried it yet. I should have worked on getting them out when I rearranged my rocks recently. The thing is that I don't have a QT tank setup right now so i need to be prepared to run them to the LFS if I ever get them out.
