I am thinking of restarting my 24g tank but I need some info on damselfish first. How big do they get? What species are good starters? Can they be kept in groups? any info will help.
Well, because it is such a small tank, i think that i should just get a few fish and the chromis species and other damsels looked like good starter fish. I am not a very experienced aquarist so i do not think that i will get any hard to keep fish.

A group of 3 or so little damsels would be fine. The yellowtail damsel is small (3" max) and not as mean as most. If you decide to add another fish down the road, you may have to take the damsels out. They are very hardy, inexpensive and pretty fish. But, can be 100 times as mean as they look.. Chromis may be a better choice, but if you like the damsels get them; its your tank!
