Danner Supreme Mag-Drive Pump

Does anyone use this brand of pump or have an opinion either way about them? I'm planning on getting a Danner Supreme Mag-Drive 24. Any other recommendations? I have 1200GPH drainage from a 125 gallon tank, the return is about 6'-0" above the pump. Thanks

Mags are ok IMO.....running submerged they will add unnecessary heat to your system.....I personally like Sequence pumps......They have something to fit your needs, and the reliability and performance is second to none.....

You can also run them externally. There have been reports of leaking seals on them when used this way, but I've never observed it...
Oh, and Acrylic... where the heck have you been for the last couple months?

I run a 9.5 externally (keep the heat out of the tank) and haven't had any problems. It's only been 2 months though.

i run a mag 18 for my return in sump and I run a nag 7 externally on a closed loop...both are fine after 7 months with no overheating issues at all. The mag 7 leaked for about a half a day,(just barley) called danner mfg. and they said this was common til they get seated good. since then no problems at all
