dark spots on my yellow tang

I came home today and noticed dark spots on the right side of my yellow tang. It looks like a clump of 3 dark spots behind his right eye. I haven't noticed any changes in eating habits, but he seems more shy. I'm not sure though. Anyway, from everything I've read this doesn't look like ich, but I'm not sure. Anyone have any ideas on what it is for sure? The only other fish I have in my tank is a regal tang. I've had both for about 5 weeks and this is the 1st sign of trouble I've had in my tank. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Are the spots discoloration of the skin, or are they raised bumps? What exactly is the color? Brown, black? Does it look like little pimples? Scrabed skin? Size of spots?

the spots don't look raised at all, they're just much darker areas than the rest of his side. My tang's about 3 inches in diameter, and the spots or the area that the spots cover looks to be about the size of a couple of dimes which partly overlap. Thanks for your help.
