day lights & night lights?

I have 2 sets of lights in my biocube, its what came with it. One is a white light, the other is a blue night light. I know you have the white light on during the day but does the blue light need to be on during the day as well or is it to be on at night only? Why would you have a blue night light on? For night time viewing? Does it hurt the fish or coral to have a light on all of the time? Can they see the blue light at all? Thanks, Kim

Some do actinic (blue light) on half hour before white and half hour after white goes out in the daylight on cycle.
Run both lights regardless on for about 9-10 hours a day. Example.... 8am-7pm something of the sort.
Yes it is a MUST corals have the light daily. They feed off of it and couldnt live without it.
As for fish. Fish can live without light at all. But regardless if its just fish oyu have in the tank keep both lights on for very few hours.
If you make it a reef tank without many fish than stick to the 10 hour daylight schedule.
Dont be afraid to ask more. We all gotta get feedback somewhere!..
