dead blenny

i bought a lawnmower blenny a couple of months ago. he appeared happy and healthy up until i found him dead today. he had a little chunk of flesh missing from his belly. all i have in my tank are 3 small damsels, one hawaiian strawberry crab and brindle worms. could the culprit be the crab? i read that they're docile and peaceful. would they try to catch live prey? i'm perplexed

i would assume the digging into the belly was post mortem. Thats what a clean up crew is for, to do the dirty work and keep the water clean of dead rotting things.
