Dead Brain Coral

Three months ago I got a piece of live rock with a huge dead brain coral on it. Question is, should I cut it off of the rock or just leave it? Do you think there could be anything inside deep of the thing?

its a good place for pods & stuff to live. if you dont like the way it looks you can get rid of it, but i wouldnt.
