Dead coral as base rock

I have acquired about 100 pounds of dead coral. It looks super nice and was wondering since i'm gonna do a simple FOWLR tank can i use it for base rock?
You can use it as base rock even if you do corals. Dead coral is just fine for any saltwater tank and it has all those cool shapes. They do get covered full of algae so that pretty white wont last.
Even the resin decor/fake coral you put in a tank gets seeded with good bacteria just like the rock.
